Individual winners: (L-R) Julie Gundry, Rosemary Krieck and Jonathan Rass
Three individual participants and three professional hair stylists were awarded $3,700 in cash prizes for
the inaugural #GetYourColourOn Hair Award as part of the Colour Your Hair to Conquer Cancer campaign. The honour recognizes the best hair colour transformation by both individuals and stylists during May’s Colour Your Hair Month in support of Princess Margaret Cancer Centre.
“This award recognizes the efforts of our participants who raised both money and awareness for vital cancer research with their bright and bold colour transformations,” said Christine Lasky, Chief Brand Officer & Vice President, Strategic Initiatives at the Foundation. “This is just a small sample of the incredible transformations we saw throughout Colour Your Hair month, and we look forward to seeing how participants will continue to get their colour on next year.”
A celebrity panel chose the winners based on photo entries submitted by May 31, 2018. The panel consisted of Pooja Handa (TV Personality / Anchor CP24), Anwar Knight (TV Personality / Weather Specialist- CTV News) and Anna Lee Boschetto (Editor-In-Chief of Salon Magazine).
Hundreds of people from over 200 cities across the country participated in the first year of this exciting new initiative, raising funds for vital cancer research. While Colour Your Hair Month is over, participants have until July 31, 2018 to raise funds and submit their totals. A final top 10 list of individual and team fundraisers will be published on August 1, 2018 and participants will be eligible for rewards through the Ambassador Program.
